Released in 2008, this Tomica No. 18 Jeep Wrangler is a rare mini collectible. It is a gem hard to find these days.

As of today, they are sold at the lowest price of US$32.80 on EBay. We can find them sold on EBay with other higher price tags as well such as US$44.99, US$54.88 and US$59.99. Tomica Hong Kong is selling them at US$33.99 but it is currently sold out. Amazon sellers has the highest price tag which starts from US$91.81.

Here is the top view of the box package which shows the scale of this model at 1:64.

Description on the box is in Japanese language.

This diecast model is ‘Made in China’.

It is a Jeep licensed product under license from Chrysler.

Both opening side of the box bear the same design.

We love the front of this diecast Jeep Wrangler which is lively with detailed silver headlights and orange turn lights. The grille stands out as the trademark of this Jeep model. Tinted windscreen provides an even more realistic feel of the vehicle.

Here is the bird’s-eye view of the protruding hood and the black interiors of the jeep.

The side views show the clearly defined doors on both sides which can’t be swung open. Fuel lid is visible on the left side of the car. The wheels have a working suspension whereby the wheels can be pushed down and it would spring up again. This is one fun action feature for this model.

Front quarter views from left and right angles.

Rear quarter views from left and right angles.

Dotted with two red taillights and a button of the spare tire cover ‘JEEP’ in between makes the rear looks cute from behind.

Another perspective from the top rear view with the roll bars more distinctly visible here.

The base is made of plastic in black color. It is “Made in China”.

Hope you have enjoyed the review of this particular rare diecast Jeep Wrangler by Tomica as much as we do.

  1. Love this mini jeep especially the tire at the back which looks so cute and authentic. I wonder if it comes in the color red as I would love to buy this as a gift for my Uncle who owns a Jeep in the color red. He has always been a Jeep Wrangler fan.

For those of us who can’t afford the real thing or collectors who display these replica’s, this is a stunning miniature of the real thing.

  2. Just wanted to say thanks for your post on the Tomica Diecast Jeep Wrangler. I have just inherited a huge range of diecast and toy vehicles here in the UK. The majority are Matchbox and Dinky but there are quite a few American vehicles to.

I will need to go through them in some detail to see what I have but I know that there is a Jeep Wrangler amongst them although without its box. I assume that the model numbers change quite frequently with the one in your article being No 18. Your photos are great and very helpful and should at least help me determine if it is the model I have.

I am thinking of cataloguing everything and putting it for sale in an auction here in the UK. Do you think it is worthwhile pulling out the American vehicles and looking to sell to the US on EBay or even direct? I didn’t know if it would be worthwhile with the shipping? I’ll let you know which model it is when I look it up later. Thanks again

    • Hi, Kevin. It depends on which models you have. Some collectors are willing to pay for the shipping as they couldn’t get it anywhere else. You can put online for sale like on EBay or direct if you know any collectors near you.

      Cheers, Rac

  3. Dear Rac,

What a comprehensive review! I liked it.

I’ve liked this Jeep Wrangler from Tomica Cars. It seems to be strong and sturdy. That shows that durability is not questionable in this case. Even if it is knocked about, it seems like one that can still hold on to itself and not break down. I also like the colors, that mixture of deep yellow and black just looks beautiful.

Maybe to ask, what are the recommended ages for this size? The prices look fair considering that it’s a rare gem but Amazon’s seems to be quite on the higher side. But again, the good thing is that it will stay for long before one buys another.

    • Hi, Boniface-AndroidBix. For this Tomica, it is suitable for anyone above 3 years old. However, some collectors will  not want kids to get a touch on their precious collections 😉

      Cheers, Rac

  4. It is a really nice review. And for a toy car, the Diecast Model Jeep Wrangler is very realistic. I am sure if I can enhance the image and tell people it is the real deal, someone will agree.

I like that you included clear pictures to let us see all the details of the car. I appreciate the quality of the car and I find that the toys made today don’t have the same quality, this can really be a nice addition to my hubby’s collection. I have bookmarked this post for future use.

    Thanks for sharing.

    • Thanks, Adyns68. Please feel free to browse our site for more collections.

      Cheers, Rac
