Hot Wheels Nissan GT-R – 2017 Version

Earlier this year, we have posted an article on McDonald’s Happy Meal 2017 TOMICA Collectible Toy Cars. One of the car in the collection is the Nissan GT-R whereby the bonnet can be opened.

In this post, we would like to share the Hot Wheels version of the ’17 Nissan GT-R (R35) under the HW Nightburnerz series. This diecast was released in 2017. It is metal flake orange.

The front has detailed headlights, GTR emblem tampo and “V-motion” grille. The front bumper is almost close to the real life version.

Here is the top front view with bonnet vent. The windows are black tinted all around. Interior is black color. Through the front windscreen, the dashboard, steering wheel and shift knob can be seen. The wipers are embedded with the black tinted windows.

Left side view. The rims are dark gray J5.

Right side view.

The Daytime Running Lights (DRL) tampo at the side of the front bumper is clearly shown here.

The A-pillars are embedded with the black tinted windows.

Rear right quarter view.

The rear view shows the detailed iconic round taillights with GTR emblem and number plate tampo. The diffusers and quad exhausts are made of plastic which is part of the base of the diecast. It blends well with the diecast body of the car.

This is the bottom view. Base is made of plastic in black color. It is “Made in Malaysia”.

Although we are coming close to the last quarter of 2018, this HW ’17 Nissan GT-R (R35) remains a hot favorite. We look forward to other variants of this Hot Wheels. It is as close as it gets to the real life version.

  1. Hello, I really appreciate your time and effort on writing about the Hot Wheels NIssan GT-R.

I used to collect these little cars and I have a bunch of them in a box that my son now plays with. This makes a great gift for kids or anyone who is a car enthusiast like myself. The Hot Wheels Nissan GT-R has a really nice design and I really like the overall look of it. It is very pretty to look at, thanks for the article.

    • You’re welcome, Son. Your little cars are a valuable gift for your son now. We love this HW design as well and the metal flake orange color adds the supercool effect😊

      Cheers, Rac

  2. Hi Rac

Nice little review. Keep dragging me back to the good old days. 🙂

Would be nice to see the miniature against the actual car, for comparison and appreciation for the detail provided by Hot Wheels. It also unfortunate that they don’t finish the bottom of the cars with more details.

    • Hi, Dave. I have just added the actual car photo from Nissan website for comparison. Looks pretty close 😊

      Cheers, Rac

  3. Hello Rac,

I have benefited from reading your wonderful review title ‘Hot Wheels Nissan GT-R – 2017 Version’. Seeing the pictures at one moment I thought that it was a real car, I Swear. Anyway, this is an amazing toy as a gift to the kids. They really would enjoy driving a fantastic car. Would you mind if, is there any scope to recharge?
Thank you sincerely for a cool review with a nice video. 🙂

    Warm regards,

    • Hi, Ranao. Unfortunately, this is not a remote control car. Hence, no scope to recharge. It is moved by hand and to be admired 😊
