Two and a half years ago, going back to 16th July 2016, there was a release of Tomica Collection which we have not featured here. It is none other than the Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo. It was released in the same year as the Tomica Honda NSX. If you have missed it, you can still find it here: Tomica 2016 Honda NSX
This Tomica Collection of Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo is a Premium Edition No. 18. The miniature toy car is red and made at a scale of 1:63. Tomica is the only brand that has released Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo in such a small scale. There is no other brand which has released any Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo in such a mini scale as 1:63 or 1:64 including Hot Wheels.
The hood has tampo Mitsubishi logo. There is the detailed headlights with silver paint (but non-retractable as the on-the-road version). They look like sleepy eyes. The fog lamp is detailed in silver as well. It is the closest Tomica can do to replicate the transparent plastic headlights and fog lamps of the real life version. The Mitsubishi logo resembles the nose with two retracted back headlights resembling sleepy eyes. The grille looks like the mouth of the Tomica Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo while the fog lamp looks almost like the two front teeth with a big gap in between.
Dashboard and steering wheel can be seen through the clear windscreen. Black seats with gray painted cushion covers are visible too. Rearview mirror makes lines on the plastic windscreen.
The side views show the clearly defined door and fuel door lid. Its doors can’t be opened but views into the interiors can be seen clearly through its clear windows. Wheels is a replica of the real life version of the GTO.
Front quarter views from left and right angles.
Rear quarter views from left and right angles.
The features of the red spoilers enhance the look of the detailed taillights. There is tampo of Mitsubishi logo and “MMC” (short for Mitsubishi Motors Corporation) on the left, below the taillights. Visible here are dual exhaust pipes. The number plate is imprinted with the tampo “GTO” in place of numbers.
Black rear parcel shelf can be seen clearly through the rear windscreen.
The base is made of plastic in black color. It is “Made in Vietnam”.
Now, let’s get this Tomica in action. This Tomica Mitsubishi GTO Twin Turbo can move up and down with suspension on its tires when pressed. Have fun 🙂
